How to Become a Better Rider

Lessons for all levels

At Stable Relations, we believe in a commitment to continuing equine education. Whether you are a beginner rider or someone who needs to refresh their skills, we will help you achieve your goals. We instruct students of all ages and riding levels. Riding instruction is designed to maximize rider interest and fulfillment. Lessons are one hour in length with a maximum of five students. We also offer Private and Semi-Private lessons. Our lesson sessions are eight weeks in length. At Stable Relations, safety is paramount. All students must wear properly fitted riding helmets and boots with a heel.

We are an equine education facility and as such, focus on developing the rider's ability to understand and effectively communicate with the horse. In addition, we teach the rider how to become an independent horseman. We are primarily a Western riding facility and teach the majority of our lessons in this discipline.

Cost per eight week session: $305.00 inclusive of HST

New Student policies

Every new student with previous riding experience will start with one private lesson in order that their riding ability may be assessed. If the riding coach deems them ready to join group lessons, the student will be placed in a group lesson appropriate to their level of expertise.

New beginner students over the age of nine (9) years may be required to begin with private lessons. Beginner riders often need at least one session (8 weeks) of private lessons before joining a group lesson format.

New riding students under the age of eight (8) years are typically not safe in a group environment. Accordingly, we require riders in this age bracket to take private lessons in order to ensure their safety and the safety of others. In addition to introducing the students to the joy of riding, an emphasis will be placed on teaching proper leading, grooming and tacking procedures.

Private Lessons

If you enjoy learning with one-on-one instruction, then private lessons will appeal to you. Private lessons allow the rider to focus on their mount and their coach to maximize their time in the saddle. Half hour and full hour private lessons are available.

Cost for half-hour private lesson: $75 inclusive of HST

Cost for full-hour private lesson: $150 inclusive of HST

Semi-Private Lessons

If your ability to learn is optimized through small group instruction, then semi-private lessons are for you. Taking two riders with similar experience levels, and like-minded goals, our coach is able to focus on areas that need development and define achievable objectives in order to assist both riders in reaching their goals. Half hour and full hour semi-private lessons are available.

Cost for half-hour semi-private lesson: $38 inclusive of HST (each rider)
Cost for full-hour semi-private lesson: $75 inclusive of GST (each rider)
